About this camp

This in-person course at the UW Seattle campus introduces high schoolers to mathematical modeling, demonstrating its application in understanding and predicting phenomena across science and engineering. Through a blend of lectures, in-depth discussions, and hands-on exercises and projects, students will learn how math is applied in various fields. Participants will gain skills in algebraic, geometric, and graphical reasoning to recognize patterns and structures, and comfortably solve algebraic problems. The course culminates in a final project where students investigate or extend a mathematical model discussed in class. A digital badge is awarded upon completion, which can be highlighted on college and job applications.
