About this camp

Seattle Young Engineers LEGO Engineering Camp offers full-day, week-long sessions where campers engage in hands-on building with LEGO® Bricks to explore various STEM/STEAM concepts. The curriculum is designed to introduce children to scientific principles, engineering concepts, and basic programming through themed challenges and projects. Campers build specially designed models, participate in exciting games, and conduct scientific experiments that visualize natural phenomena. The program emphasizes developing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Older students (grades 4-6) tackle more advanced challenges, including complex LEGO builds, introductory robotics, and beginner programming projects using WeDo & Lego Spike model sets. Each week incorporates a social-emotional learning (SEL) topic and includes daily mechanical engineering lessons with motorized LEGO builds, as well as an art/craft/experiment-based activity.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day starts with a meditative exercise and circle time, followed by a mechanical engineering topic and a motorized LEGO build, an art/craft/experiment activity, and ends with a kid-friendly short movie on Fridays.
